Dear Aspirant,
Let's see the differences between MBA and PGDM so that you can decide which one is the better option out of the two:
The basic difference is that an MBA or Masters in Business Administration is a post-graduate degree and PGDM or Post-Graduate Diploma in Management is a diploma. So that is why only recognised and affiliated universities and colleges can provide MBA courses which is not necessary for PGDM. But the course of PGDM is considered at the same level as an MBA. The advantage of PGDM here becomes the liberty of the course as there is no necessity to follow a curriculum in such cases. This gives them the chance to be updated every year unlike the comparatively stagnant curriculum used for MBA due to the standard rules.
When looking from the perspective of career, the degree or diploma does not matter in this case. Both are equally rewarded in the society and it depends more on the name of the college and the placements provided rather than the course. MBA has a little edge over PGDM because of the difference between a degree and diploma and makes your academic record look slightly better if not much.
So, the advice for making the right choice is to not see the course but the college and the faculty of the college you are opting for. Corporates expect the same out of both the courses and therefore, the selection is mostly based on college rather than the course. If you want to attain a higher degree even after this, then MBA is strongly suggested for an academic career.
About your question regarding govt. jobs, yes you can apply for government jobs after pursuing PGDM.
Hope this helps. All the best!
College Infrastructure is attractive from inside but not as much attractive from outside and the campus is small as it will not give you a vibe of some big infrastructure college. So if you have dream to study on good infrastructure college. Don't go for it
Infrastructure is very nice and properly build with all departments. It is in a very systematic way. Its a corporate style building having 5 floors and one playing area. Having proper air conditioning class rooms.
