Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, having started its journey in 1999. Sri Padmavathy College of Nursing is housed at Ramagondanahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru is an affiliated college spread over 3 acres of land. Recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine the Institute offers six courses across three degree programmes with sanctioned strength of total students 359 and total faculty 44. The college offers several courses in Ayurvedic system of medicines such as Shalya Tantra, Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Dravyaguna, Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana.
Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital and Research Centre presents an impressive range of equipment that would help the students in their learning process as well as in their physical and mental health. The college library has more than 10000 books on Ayurveda and other modern health sciences and every year new 500 books are added to the library. It also houses a number of CDs/DVDs for education, broadband internet connection and the other audio- visual facilities. For accommodation, students are offered the privilege of having a boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel respectively. The available facilities in the campus are a health centre for first aid services, and other facilities for sporting and athletic activities, and a gym for exercise. Computer infrastructure caters contemporary learning requirements; the open-air facility is used for diverse occasions such as seminar. Feeding school: A canteen is available to satisfy food hankering of students and a departmental laboratory enhances practical lessons. Accommodation facilities are also provided a guest house for the visiting faculty and the student’s families.
Total of 6 are full time courses being offered in Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College by under graduate and post graduate level. The flagship programme is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) in which it has a strength of 60 students. The college also offers five postgraduate courses, each with an intake of 5 students: MS Shalya Tantra, MD Kayachikitsa, MD Panchakarma, MD Dravyaguna Vignana and MD Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. Each course is developed to yield adequate theoretical and practical background in different fields of Ayurveda. The total approved intake all over a course is 85 students per year.
Regarding the admission process in Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College includes the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) into the course of BAMS. This test is held once to admission for medical courses at National level all over India. In the case of postgraduate courses, the college may have its own admission requirement apart from a qualifying examination and an interview process.
