Rattan Professional Education College, College of Education, Mohali, was established in 2006. This college is one of the leading institutes providing education to make a professional teacher. It is an affiliated college located in Sector-78, Mohali Punjab and is recognised by National council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college occupies a campus of 3,5 acres and offers quality education for students; it is staffed by a faculty of 16 members exclusively for students from all over the country. At the moment, the college provides future teachers and leaders of education only two courses.

Rattan Professional Education College, College of Education is dedicated at making sure that its students get a complete experience with features that include the following. Facilitating laboratories include a psychology laboratory complete with standardised tests/apparatus for aptitude tests. The library covers an area of 135 square meters and it contains 6000 books, 17 subscribed journal, 14 magazines and 6 encyclopedias, computer and internet facilities. For all-round growth, the college is providing the sports facilities and a multi purpose auditorium having the seating capacity of 200. A separate hostel for boys and girls has been provided so that outstation students can have a comfortable stay. The campus is also equipped with wireless connection hence allowing students to browse over the internet. In addition, transport facility includes daily transport facility for students and staff of the college from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and nearby area.

Rattan Professional Education College provides two regular courses in education stream. B.Ed programme has an authorised intake capacity of 200 seats and M.Ed programmefor 50 seats only. The programmes are intended to prepare students for a successful ISL employment in teaching and educational administration. In so doing, the college has made sure that it offers these core education programmes as a way of preparing professional qualified and competent producers.

Admission criteria at Rattan Professional Education College are mainly on merit basis and as directed by the relevant universities. For B.Ed programme, the admission process is done through centralised counselling on the rotational basis by three universities of Punjab including Punjab University Chandigarh, Punjab University Patiala and Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. It will also help the institutions select more qualified teachers and BECE candidates fairly. The M.Ed programme provides direct admission on the merit list which by rules and regulation of Punjabi University Patiala. The college provides for an active affiliation of alumni for the students and teachers to stay connected in the college even after the students graduate. This network also serves the current students and plays a role in development of this college into a centre of advanced studies and research in the field of education.
