RIEIT or Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology was established in the year 2001 and is a leading engineering college situated in Ropar, Punjab. Sited across a massive land area of 27 acres, RIEIT confers a number of engineering courses at the Bachelor’s levels. The total intake of students of the said institute is 913 and the faculty of the said institute consist of 82 members. RIEIT is affiliated to offering of quality technical education characterised by skills and knowledge acquired through practice. The institute has4 courses of 1 degree types in computer science, information technology, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering.

RIEIT boasts of having modern facilities and a wide range of resources as a developmental necessities of learners. Facilities include well stocked laboratories, a central computerised library that is open 24 hours and modern information technology facilities, which includes internet connection of course having 50MBPS internet connection and wireless internet accessibility. Extra curricular activities are also taken care of by the institute, different facilities like tennis court, basketball ground, volley ball ground etc are available. separate hostels for boys and girls are available which are also very student friendly complete with activity centres, common rooms, dining halls etc. A medical care centre with all the facilities and a team of trained attendants and a team of doctors on call mean the health of the students is safe guarded. Many student benefit interactions also occur informally in the eatery located in the institute.

The institute thus provided 4 courses, whereby the courses were categorised by level of education as the undergraduate degree. The undergraduate courses RIEIT offers are B.Tech programmes in some specialisation of engineering and technology like Computer Science & Engineering,  Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, and Electrical. All courses are delivered full time but with the view of imparting to the learner’s comprehensive knowledge together with the handling of practical situations in the respective disciplines. The degrees of B.Tech take four years to complete. The institute has a total approved intake capacity of 913 students for all the programmes, even as certain B.Tech programmes have an admissions capacity of 60 students per batch.

The admittance procedure, therefore, has to be thorough and based on merit at RIEIT. In regard to the B.Tech programmes, the institute considers the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) Main which is a national level test for engineering aspirants.
