Regional Dental College, Guwahati, established in 1982, stands as a premier dental education institution in Northeast India. Admission to Regional Dental College, Guwahati, will be strictly merit-based and very structured. For the BDS program, the candidate must be qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test commonly known as NEET, as it is the main screening examination. Similarly, for MDS programs, aspirants need to clear the NEET MDS examination. These are national-level entrance exams whereby only the most qualified candidates have a chance of getting admissions into the college. The institution follows the admission calendar set by regulatory bodies and tends to have admissions just once a year.
