Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh is one of the 26 permanent institutes of Indian Council of Medical Research. RMRC NE Dibrugarh was established in 1982 in the state of Assam. The centre is responsible for carrying out biomedical research in the remote and less developed areas in the states of northeast including Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, and Sikkim. The centre is affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati.

RMRC Dibrugarh covers research areas such as non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases, Cancers, Hypertension and Coronary Heart Disease, Medicinal plants of NE India, Mosquito-borne disease, Drug abuse and HIV/AIDS, Trematode infections, Haemoglobinopathies and others. RMRC offers Ph.D Allopathic Medicine courses to students. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the courses at Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh. Admissions are done based on UGC NET and SLET scores and the past academic year marks.
