Rishi Bankim Chandra College for Women, Naihati, started as an affiliated college in the year 1984 in West Bengal. The college sprawls over a compact 0.4835-acre campus and is devoted to the cause of imparting quality education exclusively to female students. The college has enrolment of 3,498 students with a faculty strength of 29 members who teach 18 courses in 4 degree programs at the college.

Some of the special programs are BA (Honours) in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Hindi, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Geography.  Courses prescribed here include: B.Sc, (Hons) in Geography, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Food and Nutrition, and BA and B.Sc general degrees which constitute the stream of science.
