RVS College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikal: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

RVS College of Engineering and Technology situated in Karaikal, Puducherry, India since 2008 is a known institute. This is a co-educational institute which is an affiliated college acquired by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Located at Kalikuppam, Thiruvettakudi the college has a team of 44 faculty members who are oriented to their profession. RVS College presents many kinds of engineering courses, with emphasis on modern technologies and practical competencies. Although exact enrolment figures are not traceable the college has the reputation of offering quality technical education to those who would wish to be engineers.

The amenities present in campus of RVS College of Engineering and Technology includes the use of several modern facilities in learning. There are hostel facilities of college for boys as well as girls so students those who are taking their residence on the college campus can have a standard living space. A good library is a research section where students can find many materials necessary for their learning process. The college also boasts of well equipped practical laboratory for teaching and learning practically in various engineering disciplines. To support student’s health needs, the campus has got a gym, aquatic centre and sports fields. Information technology is well developed and the various technologies that we have are sufficient to support the technological trends in education. A cafeteria serves food to the students and the staff, an auditorium for other activities such as seminars. Transport facilities are also arranged by the college and therefore it becomes easier for all the day scholars to get to the college.

At present, RVS College of Engineering and Technology provides a 11 programme offer for undergraduate engineering. Currently, the college provides four B.Tech programmes: Computer science and engineering, Electrical and electronics engineering , electronics and communication engineering and Information technology. Advanced, full-time and regular courses are also necessary to meet the need of skilled human resource in the growing technology industry. These programmes have a total offer of 150 seats for students, out which Electrical Electronics Engineering offers 60 seats and the other three programmes offer 30 seats each. Selectivity of presented curricula guarantees that students gain professional training in several trending areas of engineering.

This paper aims at finding out the admission processes in the RVS College of Engineering and Technology with clarity and fairness. Following national standards of admission into colleges offering engineering courses the college uses Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) scores for admissions and offers admissions directly into the JEE Main. This makes sure that the college gets the students that have good background in mathematics and sciences.
