RVS School of Architecture, Dindigul: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

An affiliated college, RVS School of Architecture is situated in Tamil Nadu, India – Dindigul and it was set up in the year 2009. This co educational institution is recognised by the Council of Architecture and offers a special emphasis on architectural education. RVS School of Architecture is located on an 18.64 acres land and total number of students which includes both UG and PG are one hundred thirty eight students and full time faculty members are twenty three. That is the reason why the institute has only one B.Arch degree programme which takes five years to complete. Most well-known for its devotion to architectural education, the college encourages national standardised tests for entry including NATA and JEE Main scores.

In order to foster the learning process and generally improve the quality of students, RVS School of Architecture has a number of special amenities. The facility has a hostel facility for only male students and female students, and the two have a warden to maintain order and cleanliness. A fully automatic domestic mineral water plant caters healthy drinking water and the hostels provide good quality food and snacks at affordable price range. College library is provided with a view of being a storehouse of information for the students and different laboratories to fulfill the practical learning requirements of different departments. A number of activities are held in an auditorium including seminars that help in creating a tremendous learning environment. The cafeteria is large and clean and provides South Indian and vegetarian food for its students but also acts as a lieu of rest and discussion. In case of any health complications a dispensary is nearby the campus and in any case of a health emergency, the students receive constant care throughout the night if need be.

At present, RVS School of Architecture provides only one course which is a full time course - Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). Originally, this is a five-year degree course with the approved intake capacity of 10 students to assure higher quality teaching with much individual attention to the learners. The B.Arch programme is therefore intended to help the students develop the much needed competency in architectural design, theory and practice among other attributes. Although statistical data relating to total number of graduates offer no concrete information, dedication of the college towards architectural education is seen through its niche curricular and infrastructural offerings.

Unlike other institutions, RVS School of Architecture follows a standard procedure for admitting students to the programme. All aspirants for B. Arch course need to sit for a National Design Aptitude Test or Joint Entrance Examination of India, most commonly the National Aptitude Test in Architecture. Such exams check the talent of the candidates towards architectural studies and are conducted as a part of the recruitment process. The college takes into account the marks obtained in these examinations together with the results for 10+2 or equivalent. However, admission can be done throughout the year though candidates are advised to visit the sites of the respective institutions or call the admission office to seek more details on admission dates for the course.

RVS School of Architecture also encourages the all-round growth of students, in all aspects through co curricular activities. There exists infrastructure for indoor as well as outdoor sports such as: chess, carom, table tennis, volleyball and football, tennis. Students interested in sports can use a gymnasium for physical training.
