Sagar Institute of Research Technology and Science Pharmacy was set up in 2007 and is one of the premier pharmacy colleges of central India situated in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It has 1.25 acre campus which is recognised by PCI. SIRTS Pharmacy College has 404 students and has a faculty of 25 members who teach different pharmaceutical courses. At present, the institute also shows a basic gender distribution with 70% male and 30% female students. SIRTS Pharmacy offers three courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels dealing with different aspect of Pharmaceutical sciences.
SIRTS Pharmacy College has stock of numerous infrastructures aimed at improving the learning environment of the students. Having an efficient library stocked with up-to- date books, journals and e-resources through DELNET-AICTE association and textbooks. Laboratory facilities are available for operational practical experiences in pharmaceutical research and new product development. For students, the campus has accommodated different hostels for boys and girl hence facilitating extra space for out-station students. A cafeteria, sports grounds, and an effective gym help a campus become more integral. The institute also has an IT section that makes sure that it supports learning that has adopted digital components. To attend to the needs of the students and staff the campus presents itself with ATM services, spacious parking space, and some means of transport.
SIRTS Pharmacy has it all when it comes to pharmaceutical education programmes. The institute provides three full-time courses, B.Pharma (Bachelor of Pharmacy), M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics and a Diploma course in D.Pharma. The intake capacity of SIRTS Pharmacy College for all the programmes is 175 & thus maintaining good quality education along with moderate size of the sections. The largest, B.Pharma programme is the flagship course which has the highest intake capacity of 100 students, while 60 students are admitted to the D.Pharma programme and 15 students to M.Pharma (Pharmaceutics) programme. They are structured to provide sound academic content and industrial exposure that are appropriate for a successful carrier in the pharmaceutical sector.
Admission to the undergraduate programs of SIRTS Pharmacy is most competitive based on merit, which allowed those candidates who deserved it to have the chance to study pharmacy. For the B.Pharma and D.Pharma programmes, there are direct admissions and the intakes are based on the merit obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examination. The M.Pharma programme, however, mandates candidates to write the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), which is a national level test. This way it is possible to guarantee that the postgraduate students are capable, and possess a sufficient knowledge base for completing their postgraduate pharmaceutical programmes. SIRTS Pharmacy also avails scholarship programmes to ban support the deserving candidates
