Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology is of the private B-Tech institution and was established in the year 2002 in Thrissur, Kerala. This college affiliated with the university and is approved by AICTE having a spacious campus of 40 acres of land; it is NAAC accredited. The institute has 1,366 in total students and 100 in total faculties The institute provides 21 courses in 3 degree programmes. The college boasts a diverse student body with 54% male and 46% female students in undergraduate programmes. The courses include Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Bio Medical Engineering and Biotechnology Engineering.

Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology offers several services to support the students. The facility has separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls within a congenial atmosphere to live in, staffed by qualified wardens and assistants. A rich library which contains variety of books and journals along with number of project reports for students use. The college values hygiene by having well-equipped gyms for boys and girls and trainers who oversee the activities. Those who like a sport can use the games and tournaments that are held for the whole year. The IT structure of the school has a brand new computer laboratory with 60 computer stations connected with LAN. Other facilities are a hygienic canteen to support supply of healthy meals, a 3000 seater capacity auditorium and 21 buses to transport learners. The campus has round-the-clock free wireless internet connection, an ATM, visitors’ rooms, and all necessary automobile parking amenities.

Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology is a multi-discipline college provides nine courses, mostly undergraduate engineering courses. The institute offers six B.Tech programmes, those are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering. Also it offers three M.Tech programmes such as Computer Science and Engineering, Embedded Systems and Industrial Biotechnology. The college has also doctorate programmes in most faculties of engineering and Chemistry. The total number of intake permitted for all the undergraduate programmes is 420 while Computer Science and Engineering has the highest intake of 180.

Most of the students are admitted into Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology under the concept of merit. The undergraduate admission to the engineering colleges of Kerala is through separate entrance examination known as Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) examination, which is being conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. The commendable merit list is arrived at by taking the mark secured in KEAM and merging it with the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination, Plus Two. This helps birth fair competition between different selective engineers so that they can be selected in the most deserved way.

The college also provides the lateral entry schemes for diploma holders in different B.Tech programmes to join in second year. These are also merit based admissions. When it comes to postgraduate and doctorate college has its own admission criteria. This college strategically aims at allowing students to pay reasonable fees so that any form of financial assistance to the students from any part of the world can be supported. This high percentage of the students on financial aids on the undergraduate level shows that the college is vested towards attempting to offer quality education to a wider number of students.
