Sambal College of Education, Sikar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Sambal College of Education, Sikar, coming into existence in the year 2007, is a co-educational college located at Shivsingh Pura, Sikar district of Rajasthan. This affiliated college, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), provides various undergrad courses in education and sciences. Stretched over a 2.5-acre area, the college has a current student strength of 543 and faculty members of 25. Previously, Sambal College of Education offered six different course offers, in particular integrated B.Ed. programmes for science-minded learners as well as teachers.

The college should be proud of several lavish amenities aimed at improving the outcome of students’ learning processes. A good library is an excellent source of knowledge, as science and mathematics laboratories equipped with all basic amenities are located in the lower basement. On the ground floor, there is modern educational technology and a computer super lab with language lab software packages. Additional facilities include a gym and playfields for various sports and games and the college also has a playground for outdoor games. A hall with a large seating capacity and a seminar hall serve various functions as academic activities and extracurricular seminars are actively endorsed on the campus. It also provides conveniences for the students, including a cafeteria, a health center, and transport facilities for the students.

Sambal College of Education has a total of six courses, all of which are full-time. These are B.Ed., integrated B.A., B.Ed., integrated B.Sc., B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well as B.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry. Total student intake of the college is 543 across all the courses offered and different student intake for some programmes. For example, the B.Ed course has an intake capacity of 200; both the integrated B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. courses admit 100 students each.

There are different procedures for acquiring an admission slot at Sambal College of Education but these may differ with the course that the student is applying for. Admission to the programme is merit-based: marks in the qualifying examination/entrance examination, as per norms of the state government and the university, for students admitted to the B.Ed. programme. For B.Sc. programmes in botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, admissions are on a merit basis and interview. 

It also has a girls hostel having a strength of 10 students only, which temporarily accommodates outstation girls students. Although information concerning the scholarship is scarce, the college does actually have an active alumni association, thus ensuring all students get a good connection point after they have left the institution. Sambal College of Education, Sikar, has all-round infrastructure facilities and various courses that will provide a better learning environment for the students who are interested in teacher education and the science stream in Rajasthan.
