Sana College of Education, Hubli, which was set up in 2005, is one of the premier institutes involved in offering teacher training courses in the state of Karnataka, India. This co-educational college affiliated with a university has the vision of nurturing future educators in their field. Situated on a 2-acre campus, the college has the recognition of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It currently has an enrollment of 191 students and a faculty of 23; it provides a personalised environment for those students intending to teach.

The college has a variety of amenities intended to help clients improve their learning process. Sana College of Education currently only has one main course to offer: the Bachelor of Education programme [B.Ed]. This CTEC-approved full-time course is a two years’ programme for training competent professionals in theories of education and practice. This college has been approved for 100 student intake for this programme, giving a chance for many individuals interested in being teachers in the future. The particular focus results in a more effective use of the institution’s resources and knowledge in providing quality teacher education.

The admission policy of Sana College of Education functions according to the requirements that have been laid down with regards to the state government, university, and other educational authorities of the state. Till date, there is no policy of reservation as all the admissions are merit based and it checks the marks that students scored in the qualifying exam. On occasion, an entrance examination or other forms of tests may be conducted when forming admission policies as stipulated by policy. This keeps deserving candidates from missing their opportunity of becoming educators when they can make the change.

For this reason, Sana College of Education, which is solely involved in the production of teachers, has a great responsibility in the development of education in the area. Having NCTE recognition in addition to possessing modern amenities and offering a structured B.Ed. programme, students can build the necessary groundwork for the trajectory of their teaching careers.
