Sapthagiri College of Engineering, Dharmapuri,was set in the year 1993 as an affiliated college in Tamil Nadu. Located on a vast piece of land of 25 acres, the institute provides various streams of engineering and management. Having a total student capacity of 383, Sapthagiri College of Engineering has 111 faculty members and is AICTE approved. The college offers 12 courses across four programmes with specialisation in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology. The institute is mainly promoting technical education with an idea of creating technical professionals to face the technical orbital changes.

Sapthagiri College of Engineering offers various facilities with regard to learning and development of students. It has chemical, pathology, microbiology and other practical skills teaching labs for internships, efficient library for academic purposes, and up-to-date facilities for IT education. Facilitating the need and proper comfort of the student population, Sapthagiri College of Engineering has the added facility of a boys and girls hostel. For a healthy educational environment, it also possesses a cafeteria, sports facilities, and a gym facility, etc. In addiiton, the college has a health care centre that may have first cate facilities for the well-being of the students. Since the institute is aware of the need to have easy means of transport, it has offered transport facilities for students and employees.

Sapthagiri College of Engineering has an intake of 12 courses in total; 9 B.E and 3 M.E courses. Syllabuses offered include full time programmes in all branches of engineering and management. The undergraduate programmes include BE Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, etc. At postgraduate level, the college provides various ME programmes such as Master of Engineering in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering etc. The total approved intake for all the courses offered is 383 students and such a noble capacity further shows the institutes direction of ensuring that it offers quality education through the provision of quality learning with more student-enrolment per teacher and faculty as recommended.

The admission policy of Sapthagiri College of Engineering is rigorous as well as selective to match the merit only. Thus for undergraduate engineering courses the college admits the TNEA counselling score. University MBA and MCA admissions follow the result of state level entrance examination called Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). The institute also accepts the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for some of its postgraduate programmes.  Sapthagiri College of Engineering embarked a mission to provide higher education for the students of all categories to build up a competent engineer and manager in the era of technology.
