Saraswati Mahavidyalaya, Surguja, the college which is affiliated to Dr.c.v. Raman University, Jabalpur was established in 2008 is situated at Ambikapur , District Chhattisgarh. This is a co educational institute which is located in a two acre land and is famous for its quality teacher education. It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and also recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It’s a small college for education with total intake capacity of 197 students and 7 faculties. 

The college has various resources which are available to improve the learning environment of the intended students. The library is filled with books on different topics, so students are free to borrow materials for the period of 15 days. Sports lovers and players can fully benefit from a college that has capacity in the areas of cricket, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, koh-koh, athletics, carrom and chess both indoors and outdoors. It also hosts Annual Sports Day and also takes part in state and university competitions in the course of the year. For academic related purposes, the college offers departmental laboratories together with a good Information Technology support. This is achieved by provision of Student welfare by having health center for first aid, a canteen to meet staffs and students’ food requirements. 

The college also has an event and seminar venue, a multi-purpose hall, dining hall, private rooms for guest faculty and visitors, and living quarters for faculty and student families. Concerning the teaching programs provided, it is a known fact that Saraswati Mahavidyalaya, Surguja is mainly a teacher training college. Currently, one main course is offered at the college, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program, which is a full time program that span for two years. This programme has an approved admission capacity of 100 students and is a clear testimony of the institution’s commitment towards producing qualified educators for this part of the world. 

The admission procedure of Saraswati Mahavidyalaya, Surguja is based on mark secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance examination. The college has certain policies for admission following the guidelines issued by the state government of Chhattisgarh and the university to which this college is affiliated to.
