The Sarsam College of Pharmacy, Baramati, India, was established in 2018 and delivers education in the sphere of pharmacy. Situated in Palaswadi, Baramati, Maharashtra, this affiliated college has earned its unique place in the dictionary of pharmacy education in a very short time. The Pharmacy college is PCI approved and is recognised by AICT in India to adhere to the national quality standards. Sarsam College of Pharmacy currently has 23 faculty members and offers two courses in pharmacy for the students who wants to make a career in the related sector.
Sarsam College of Pharmacy has several facilities of the most recent styles and standards aiming to optimise the learning process of the learners. The library which forms indisputable part of academic assistance contains 2000 textbooks and 500 reference books, newspapers and magazines of popular circulation. It is operated by qualified staff, to give students access to the current pharmaceutical literature. Sarsam College of Pharmacy offers two full-time courses: D.Pharma – a two years degree course and B.Pharma – a four years course of study. These two programmes have an approved intake of 60 students, giving a total of 120 places available per course. The B.Pharma course admission is conducted according to the state level norms, the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH TCET) results are considered for admission. Though, it was not possible to get quantative information on the total graduates produced by the college, yet, quality nature of the college is evident by the discipline offered and facilities available in college.
To ensure that students accorded an opportunity in Sarsam College of Pharmacy merit was embraced in the admission process. To get into the B.Pharma programme , students must have to take their admission into Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). Extra State level examination is conducted for admission and to test the intelligence of the candidates who wish to join the course of pharmaceutical studies. The concern does not indicate particular admission dates but, fresh students interested in the course should monitor MHT CET for examination annually. The college has also hostels for male and female students with such facilities as halls for recreation, dining etc. Some of the specific observations made during the assessment include; A very special highlight is the provision of Solar Water Heater System in all the hostels in the institution as a measure of practicing sustainable systems. To guaranty a continuous power supply the school has procured a 165 KvA standby generator. The technological aspect in the college is well represented by the college’s well endowed computer laboratory where students use in their project presentation. Proposed designs for Wi-Fi throughout the campus also illustrate the institution’s attempt to create a twenty-first learning environment.
