Savitri Girls' College was started in the year 1972 at Kolkata, West Bengal, and it is an affiliated college. Spread over a compact campus of 0.25 acres, it aims to offer quality education for its female students. The NAAC has accredited the institution, testifying to the fact that it sincerely takes up the responsibility of maintaining high educational standards. With the current enrolment of 1,278 students and a faculty strength of 36, Savitri Girls' College offers a focused learning environment. 

The college has numerous facilities targeted at enhancing the student experience through education. These encompass a well-stocked library with an approximate stock of 15,643 books. This resource center provides a vast collection of reading materials but also offers computer facilities and an ideal reading environment to the students as well as teachers in the school. Its lending policy allows honors students to take two books for a fortnight while general students are allowed one. At the college level, other than academics, there is a state-of-the-art lecture hall that caters to cultural programmes, lectures, seminars, and workshops. Other amenities include a gym and other sports facilities for physical health for the students. At present, Savitri Girls' College operates only two full-time undergraduate courses: Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). This college has a sanctioned student intake capacity of 1,278, which is equal to the actual number of students studying here, thus indicating full utilisation of the available seats.
