School of Engineering and Technology, Mizoram University, Aizawl (SET-MZU) is one of the recognised institute situated in Aizawl in the state of Mizoram. This school has already earned its place among the leaders of the technical education in India. SET-MZU is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which remains a testament to an adherence to standard in this institution. The school has a passionate team of 27 dedicated members comprising of faculties who give individual attention to students in five B.Tech programmes offered at the school. SET-MZU has the modern technological infrastructure and congregates in innovations setting directions to the future of engineering education in Northeast India.

The facilities available at SET-MZU for the use of its are requirements for convenience and effective learning. The most important of these facilities is the large central library, which is located in a 4,496.62 sq.m space. It possesses a rich stock of 1,12,719 books along with e-resources membership of INFLIBNET so that it is a storehouse of knowledge for those aspiring to be engineers. In matters of structure and design, the building has both eye appeal and sustainable architecture as it is serviced by a 100 KW stand-alone Solar PV Power Plant. This environmentally friendly practice helps learners to have access to learning materials at any one time. The campus has good IT facilities, separate laboratories for each department and has Wi-Fi facility also. To meet the needs of students, the institute houses individual hostels for boys as well as for the girls. It has also developed and some parts of the amenities provided include sports facilities, events/seminars auditorium, and a health centre including first aid services for the learners.

These stem from our mission as the premier institution for engineering learning, and in aspiring to meet the demands of the market, SET-MZU provides a diverse menu of programmes to interest learners in engineering. At the moment, the school offers five full time B.Tech programmes, each of which takes four years to complete. These programmes include Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Information technology. Every programme is approved to accept only 30 students, so the learner utilisation fee is small and the class participation is large. It takes 150 students annually across all the programmes to make sure that it maintains the cohort of prospective engineers small but dedicated. 

The admission policy at SET-MZU is also competitive intended at offering a membership to the best and most suitable individuals for the programmes it offers. Performance in qualifying exam, record and sometimes tests or interviews affect the chances of a student gaining admission into the school of engineering.
