MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology, Pune: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology is located in Pune, Maharashtra, and was established in the year 1998. It is an affiliate college, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, in a unique institute that imparts specialist education in fashion and design. Spread over 11 acres, there is a total student enrolment of 771 with 100% female students. It has courses in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, and Interdisciplinary studies, with a total of 6 courses across 2 degree levels. Spread over a faculty of 15 dedicated professors, SOFT provides a highly focused environment for budding fashion professionals.

Moreover,  MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology is well-furnished with all the necessary facilities to aid students in whichever creative venture they take up. It has more than 3,550 books, 35 magazines and journals, and an interesting audio-visual resource collection covering fashion forecasting services. The computer centre is equipped with the latest hardware and software configurations like specialised CAD/CAM workstations with high-end software such as Lectra and Fashion Studio. Students' exposure to industry trends is enhanced by several seminars, symposiums, and guest lectures hosted by the beautifully designed auditorium of SOFT. It also has on campus a health centre, a girls' hostel, a cafeteria serving nutritious meals, and a gym fully equipped with yoga and fitness programmes.

SOFT offers a total of 6 courses, of which there are 5 undergraduate and 1 postgraduate programme. All of these are full-time courses. The B.Des programmes are for 4 years while the MDes Interdisciplinary course is for 2 years.

Admission into the Undergraduate Programme of MKSSS School of Fashion Technology is made based on selecting talented and passionate students. Academic performance and creative aptitude are considered for admission. SOFT attracts a wide mix of students: 28 per cent of undergraduates and 15 per cent of postgraduate students come from outside the state of Maharashtra.
