School of Studies in Computer Science and IT is one of the constituent schools of Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, situated at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This institution has been in operation for more than thirty three years, as a computer science and Information Technology Institution founded in 1992. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, a statutory body of the Government of India thus making it a standard school. The school’s focus is postgraduate and doctorate with three programs on offer and a faculty of two, both of which are solely committed to the school. The school is located in the central business district of Raipur at Amanaka G.E Road, and offers a suitable learning environment for post graduate studies in two emerging core functions of any developed society today, namely; computers and information technology. 

The School of Studies in Computer Science and IT is thus determined to ensure that student’s access world class tools to support their training. The institution has its equipped library and ensures students have the needed academic resources and references in their studies. The IT facilities are first-rate owing to concepts that the school has incorporated in their functioning and the course that lays much stress on the on-and-on computer science education. Every separate department has its own specialized laboratory, which lets students put the obtained theory into practice. On the same note, the school provides clean and spacious hostels for boys and girls respectively for out station scholars. A spacious fully wired auditorium fitted with Wi, LAN and projector is used for seminars, presentations and other academic activities. The whole campus has been covered with Wi-Fi, therefore; allowing easy access to the internet to all the students and staff. The institution teaches three full time courses in total, two of them in computer science while one is in Information Technology intended at various levels of tertiary education. 

MCA which is a two year course, M.Sc. information technology which is a three years course and Ph.D. computer science and information technology. The MCA program itself has the largest number of intakes with 60 while the M.Sc. Information Technology as 25 and the Ph.D. program 12. Such a diverse offering of courses help students develop specialized skills of their choice within a wide area of study that is computer science and information technology. 

The opportunity to enroll in any of the study programs at the School of Studies in Computer Science and IT is given to those candidates who best fit the programs. For the MCA program, admissions are made through the CG PRE-MCA Entrance Test, a examination conducted at state-level to check the ability of the candidate for higher learning in computers. Entrance examinations are also conducted in choosing the candidates for M.Sc Information Technology and for the doctoral course, Ph.D. programs ascertain that only deserving and competent students are admitted. 

These entrance exams normally assess the level of understanding of the contestant as well as the potential of the contestant in research on computer science at an advanced level.
