Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Paschim Medinipur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya, established in 1964, is an affiliated rural college with its location at Kapgari, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. The institution has an area of 19.02 acres and offers a wide variety of courses, running as many as 15 different courses under 6 different degree programs. Having a total enrolment of 1,959 students with a faculty of 42, the learning environment seems apt for students. Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya is recognized for its courses in the streams of Arts, Science, and Education, having specializations in Santali, Geography, Philosophy, and Physical Education. It has been granted recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education for its teacher training programmes.

The institution has numerous facilities to bring about realisation of this vision. There is a library in the college building that stocks over 24,000 volumes including textbooks, reference books, and journals, which help serve the teaching and research operations of all departments. There is a well-equipped gymnasium to provide for the physical development of both boys and girls students. Separate, well-furnished, and comfortable boys' and girls' hostels for outstation students are also provided. All students have facilities for sports, and the institution encourages one to have a healthy balance of academics with physical activities. The IT infrastructure of the college supports the latest techniques of teaching, and the auditorium is used as a platform for functions and seminars.

Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya runs a total of 15 courses, all regular. At the arts stream, the institution offers various BA programmes with honours in Santali, Sanskrit, Philosophy, History, English, Bengali, and Geography. In the science stream, there are programmes in B.Sc with honours in Geography, Anthropology, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Other faculties that the college provides are a B.P.Ed in physical education and a B.Com in Accounting and Finance. 

The admission process to all the offered programs in Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya differs from course to course. The institute follows the state government's and affiliating university's policies for almost all the offered programs' admission process. The B.P.Ed admission process, however is a bit more regularised. The mode of admission to these courses is through performance in the entrance examination, which includes a written test, a test for physical fitness, and an interview. The percentage obtained in the qualifying examination is also considered by the college.
