Sewa Devi SD College of Education was started in 2000 and is an affiliated college situated in Tarn Taran, Punjab. This is a co-educational institution which is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE] for providing specialised programmes in education. It is an independent college on a 3-acre campus with an approximate student enrollments of 128 and full time faculties of 11. The institute provides two full-time courses: Teaching courses include the Bachelor of Education (B Ed) and the Master of Education (M Ed) which prepares students for careers in bringing educational enlightenment at the tertiary level.

Sewa Devi SD College of Education possesses modern amenities aimed at improving the teaching and learning activity of its learners. There is a centralised library in the school which contains more than 6000 books including educational encyclopaedas, dictionaries and year books etc, Daily 68 newspapers and 18 educational journals are available in English, Urdu, Hindi etc. Facilities available include up to date Science Lab, Psychology Lab, Educational Technology Lab, and Language Lab with sophisticated equipments and teaching aids. In the area of physical fitness the college has provision for outdoor sports and modern gymnasium with all apt equipments. The college also has it owns computer, printers and even internet for the enhancement of computer based learning.

Sewa Devi SD College of Education still has two main programmes running in the field of education. The B.Ed programme has an intake capacity of one hundred students and the M.Ed programme faculty has a sanctioned strength of fifty students. Both are full time courses though their duration differs and goes for two years in particular. These programmes are aimed at producing teacher training professionals, as well as training education administration professional, and present programme will offer theoretical as well as practical course content that will fit into the modern training of professionals in the field of teaching and education.
