Sheth JP Government Ayurveda College, Bhavnagar, was established in 1967 and is one of the highly premier institutions in the state of Gujarat imparting education in Ayurveda. This affiliated college, located in Bhavnagar, has been granted recognition by CCIM, New Delhi, and hence imparts high-quality education in traditional Indian medicine. The campus is spread over 2 acres, providing a conducive setting for learning and research. The institute has sustained excellent student-teacher ratio with a total enrolment of 213 students and a faculty strength of 21, therefore providing highly individualized attention and academic growth.

The Sheth JP Government Ayurveda College imparts a course in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). It is a full-time six-year undergraduate course that provides not only theoretical but also practical knowledge concerning Ayurveda Medicine. The sanctioned intake capacity for the BAMS course in the college is 75, which reflects a commitment to quality education coupled with catering to a large number of aspiring Ayurvedic practitioners. 

The Admission to Sheth JP Government Ayurveda College is merit-based and takes place through a well-defined process. Candidates have to apply based on their NEET UG Medical scorecard. As NEET is conducted at the national level, it serves as the main basis of admission in BAMS. All candidates will have to meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed under the rules of admission.
