Shiva College, Bhilai, was established in the year 2005 as an affiliated college in Radhika Nagar, Supela, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The institution has been assessed and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Spread over a 6 acre campus, Shiva College offers a co-educational environment with a total student enrolment of 224. The faculty strength of the college is 25, and it has two specialised courses in education. 

The institution's focus on teacher training has made Shiva College a known institution in the field of education in the entire region. This college aims to provide an all-rounded learning atmosphere to its students. It facilitates the institution with amenities focused on developing the academic and personal lives of the students. This includes separate boys' and girls' hostels, assuring comfortable boarding for students who come from outside the town. The library serves as an information centre for the campus and stocks around 4,000 books related to B.Ed., Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and national and international journals and magazines. To complement theoretical inputs through practical learning, the institution has well-maintained science labs, psychology labs, and educational technology labs. Technology is in-built into the campus with Wi-Fi across the campus and excellent IT infrastructure. 

Shiva College offers two courses concerning to the educational field. Its B.Ed course has an intake capacity of 100 seats while the M.Ed. course offers 50 seats. The sanctioned duration for both programmes is two years. Teacher Education, in both cases, aims to shape its students for a career in the educational sector.

Admission Procedure at Shiva College is different for different programmes. For B.Ed, candidates shall be selected through a pre-entrance examination conducted by the Professional Examination Board of Chhattisgarh. This makes sure that only the eligible and competent ones are admitted. On the other hand, admission to M.Ed. is purely merit-based. The students will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance and other criteria defined for the purpose.
