Shivajirao Pawar College of Pharmacy at Pachegaon is a new college set up in the year 2018. Situated in Nevasa Taluka of Ahmednagar District Maharashtra, this affiliated college has put down very short roots in the field of Pharmaceutical Education. PCI attests to the Education quality of the institute in the field of Pharmacy and AICTE also is official for the education quality in Technical field. Lying in 7.95 acres of land, the college currently offers admissions to 180 students and has a teaching staff of 15 faculty members, which clearly shows a beneficial student-teacher ratio.
Shivajirao Pawar College of Pharmacy offers a focused curriculum with two primary pharmacy programmes: A four year programme known as Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and a two year course Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma). Pharmacy is offered as a two-year full-time on-campus programme focusing on providing students with substantial background in pharmaceutical sciences. The B.Pharma programme has an intake capacity of 100 students and the D.Pharma programme has intake capacity of 60 students, therefore, the college admits 160 students each year for pharmacy course. To the following objectives, Shivajirao Pawar College of Pharmacy pledges a comprehensive training to its learners. It might be that some details regarding the campus facilities are still unclear, but there is evidence that the college must provide the necessary facilities required for education in pharmacy such as laboratories, library along with technologically advanced teaching facilities in classrooms.
Perspective students, the admission process for both B.Pharma and D.Pharma programmes is very simple. As for specific entrance exams, RPCs do not operate with them but students are admitted in accordance with their scores in qualifying tests and in compliance with requirements set by legislative and/or accreditation agencies. The general student entry capacity at the college is 180 and this makes us infer that the admission processes are equally competitive but reasonably open. Shivajirao Pawar College of Pharmacy, Pachegaon, offers a chance to students who wanted to make their career in the field of pharmacy to fulfill their desire in a specific manner and environment. Since it is recognised by some of the major regulatory agencies and since it offers specialised programmes, Pharmacy should be considered as one of the preferred institutions for pharmacy education in Maharashtra. It is also a young university that should experience growth in the following years in an effort to enhance the pharmaceutical industry of the region through churning out competent personnel.
