Shivnath Singh Education Mahavidyalaya, established in 2005, is an affiliated college in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Located in a small piece of real estate of 8.67 acres, this institution focuses on the training of teachers and awards the students with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). The college follows the norms of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and is recognised by the National Council of Teacher Education in India. The college has 81 intakes for students and 10 faculties which enable the college to have an ideal student-teacher ratio.
Shivnath Singh Education Mahavidyalaya has a host of learning amenities that seek to improve learning environment for the learners. A landmark in academic materials, the library has since made available 4800 plus copies of professional books, journals and integrated resource packages available for use to the student body. It also offers study tables, preview facilities and photocopiers for research and reading purposes to the learners. The classroom are well lit and adequately ventilated and they can comfortable sit 100 students in one class, the class are fitted with modern facilities to enhance learning. For training purposes, the college has a fully functional laboratory and Information Technology facility for intended discipline education practices.
Shivnath Singh Education Mahavidyalaya currently has only one full time program on offer in the form of the B.Ed programme. It is a two-year programme with an approved intake of fifty students making sure the college offer quality teacher education. As an educational based course, the B.Ed is intended to produce teachers in schools through imparting the relevant teaching skills and information. Although at the moment the college has only one degree programme, it has shown it has focus on specialising in teacher education.
The B.Ed programme offered in Shivnath Singh Education Mahavidyalaya entrusts student’s selection through an admission test conducted by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. This makes the selection of candidates to be fairly and offer a deserved chance to the most qualified candidates.
