Shree Macchi Mahajan Education Societys College of Education, Nani Daman was established in 1993 to provide quality education to the people of Union Territory of Daman and Diu. A co-educational college created to produce educators, this college is located on 6.501 acres of land. Recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and the National Council for Teacher Education, the college appears as an affiliated college dedicated to offering quality education in teacher training. It possesses a total enrollments of one hundred and four students, and faculty that consist of six teachers, thus providing an intimate atmosphere for prospective teachers.

This college contains a variety of resources aimed at improving the learning process of the learners. That’s why the library plays an important role in the educational process as tutors of students of the faculties, junior and senior, sophomore and postgraduates, in their practices demand necessary libraries for their studies. Extensive laboratories address various requirements of the departments and offer practical experience opportunities. A health center to address first aid is among the services that the college provides to learners to promote for their well-being. 

For those who need to be accommodated the institution is equipped with hostel like facilities for both male and female students with three rooms for boys and three for girls with just basic facilities for accommodation. Sports amenities are found within and easily accessible from the school compound for any interested student; sports and fitness. The college also has a sublime IT department, and among the qualities a student can get is modern technology facility. To overcome the transport issue of the students and staff, a transport facility is arranged.

The Shree Macchi Mahajan Education Society’s College of Education has only a single course it offers to teacher education, this is the Bachelors in Education or the B.Ed. This is a two-year full course and the approved capacity intake is 60 students. The B.Ed program aims at producing competent professional teachers capable of delivering service in the teaching profession. Due to the college’s focus on education the student receives specialized attention especially in the teacher trainining in order to produce competent graduates that can effectively cope up with the education sector challenges.

The admission procedure of B.Ed offered at the Shree Macchi Mahajan Education Society’s College of Education is done on the basis of merit. Prospective students undergo a qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other selection procedure prescribed by the State Government/UT administration and, or the University. This helps the college to ensure that the students who are selected have the basic preparation in their classes, and they have passion for teaching. 

The college is located in the Union Territory and is required that half of the strengths should be admitted from Daman in order to develop educational standard in this region. The rest 50% usually are from other parts of Gujarat State but within 5 to15km from Daman.
