Shreemati Meenakshiben Shantibhai Dave College of Education, started functioning in the year of 2008, and within a short period, grew into one of the best premier teacher training institutes in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The college is co-educational, affiliated with Saurashtra University, and provides education to future teachers. Accredited by NAAC and approved by NCTE, the college keeps all stringent things to the code in offering a course to educate teachers. The 1-acre campus enrolled 273 students with an intake capacity of 100 and has a dedicated faculty number of 13 educators.

There are a number of facilities that the institution has for the enrichment of the learning process and for the all-round development of students. One among them is the well-equipped library, which acts as a 'knowledge hub' for this institution. It houses a vast array of books, journals, and e-resources related to education and allied subjects. It has common playgrounds for various sports such as cricket, volleyball, etc., which help develop physical fitness and team spirit. Indoor games will include a sports room for table tennis, chess, and carom. Separate hostels to accommodate a strength of 60 boys and 60 girls will be within the residential complex for home-like facilities. The institution is fully provided with all types of facilities that meet the academic pursuits of its students. It has duly maintained scientific laboratories for practical training and a well-equipped computer lab with the latest systems and software in order to keep the students in touch so that they can face the challenges of the modern education scenario. There is a health center provided with first-aid facilities to keep the entire college community fit and healthy. The auditorium provides for accommodation of events and seminars, thereby creating an active academic atmosphere. It also incorporates a canteen, gym, and guest rooms to house visiting faculty as well as family members. So, a comfortable atmosphere is set for learning with all facilities.

At present, Shri Meenakshiben Shantibhai Dave College of Education offers only one full-time course: the Bachelor of Education, or, for short, B.Ed. It is a two-year program, and it believes in keeping quality education with classes of manageable standard. The course targets classical training embracing both skills and knowledge, particularly in pedagogical techniques relevant to modern education.

Admission to Shreemati Meenakshiben Shantibhai Dave College of Education shall be made on the basis of merit of the applicant, which considers marks obtained in the Qualifying Examination and Entrance Examination. The enrolment policy in the college is according to the norms put forth by the State Government of Gujarat and Saurashtra University.
