Shri Deendayal Kushwaha Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Founded in the year 2009, Shri Deendayal Kushwaha Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur is an affiliated institution. This institution has been in the heart of Uttar Pradesh for over a decade, serving the educationally needy region from its base in Village Sambalpur, PO- Rastpur, District Kanpur Nagar. The college campus covers an area of 2.53 acres of compact space and includes undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs across diverse streams. It has a student strength of 1,345 and faculty of 18 with a good ratio of students to teachers.

At its core lies an adequately equipped library. The college provides all students access to a large number of textbooks and reference materials. A library card is issued for every student, which he or she can use for borrowing the books and the optimal utilisation of the study space available. The technological advancement is also neither behind, with the fine IT infrastructure at the college ensuring proper preparation for the digital era. There are departmental labs for hands-on learning, particularly useful to science students.

Shri Deendayal Kushwaha Mahavidyalaya offers a total of 6 courses. They all are full-time courses. These courses include undergraduate BA, B.Sc in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, B.Sc in Chemistry, Animal Science and Botany, and B.Com. The college, at the postgraduate level, offers MA course in Pedagogy. It also provides D.El.Ed. Diploma in Elementary Education programme. The approved intake for D.El.Ed. programme is 50 students, although the intake for all other programmes may vary.

The college admission process is primarily merit-based admission by following the university rules and state government rules. For undergraduate BA and B.Sc, admissions are strictly as per the merit of qualifying examination keeping in view the reservations declared by Government. Similarly, the pattern followed for admissions to D.El.Ed is marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination as per the policy of the State Government.
