Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital, Puri the newly established College in the year of 2021 in Odisha can also considered the newest College of medical education in India. Situated at Baliguali, Puri district of Odisha, the co-educational facility is an affiliated college with NMC approval. Located on a very large plot of land of 25.6 acres the college offers only one course, MBBS with an approved annual admission capacity of 100 students. This has a faculty strength of 63 members therefore there is a good student-teacher relationship to ensure quality deliverance.

Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital has strong commitment to equip all necessary facilities for students and ensure modern conditions for their learning. Central Library located on 3rd and 4th floors of the Administrative block is a virtue for knowledge hunters. Self-renovated and fully air-conditioned it boasts of a seating capacity, for over two hundred and fifty readers and has a serene environment suitable for learning and research. The college also has separate hostel accommodating both sexes, where accommodation includes bed, table, chairs and cupboards for each student. For the learner who wants to become a doctor, the college has well equipped laboratories for the practical sessions. The campus facilities are complemented by present day facilities including IT facilities, playground most of which contain a basketball court and children play area, a 650 seater hall with modern audio visual equipment, a restaurant, and even a gym for the overall physical health of the children.

Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital has only one course in its curriculum; the MBBS course. This full-time course is spread over six years and offers course to the prospective doctors in medical field. The college has an intakes of one hundred seats for this programme in order to offer quality education to its students as it also works towards senior registrar to fill increasing need of health personnel in country. 

On this basis, the Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital follows the NEET-UG for admission in the college. This national level examination is the only channel under which the candidates are admitted to the MBBS programme and thereby making the admission process even and competitive. One has to qualify NEET-UG examination with specific passing marks to be able to get admission for the course. The college follows the state rules and regulation in counseling and the number of seats offered.

As far as Practical exposure is concerned, the college is affiliated to the District Headquarter Hospital, Puri the Medical College Hospital. This is a 380 bedded teaching Hospital having all the regular clinical department with ICU, SICU, SNCU and separate OPD for each clinical department. This association ensures that the our students gain practical experience in treatment of patients and performance of procedures.
