Shri Malliyappayya Swami College of Education, Bagalkot, Karnataka, is one of the oldest and renowned Colleges strengthening teacher education in India. Founded in 2005 this affiliated college has prepared future educators for nearly two decades of practice. Located in a 5.2 acre complex, Kamloops is an ideal place to learn and transform. Due to an aggregate student enrollment of 200 and with a teaching staff of 16 members the institute provides individual care and quality education. Recognising the college’s dedication to keeping high standards in teacher training, it is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college has a number of amenities that can be used to improve the quality of the studies of the learners. Basic learning needs of an Institute are adequately catered for by a well-stocked library which acts as a source of information crucial to intending teachers. At present Shri Malliyappayya Swami College of Education offers one main course for its students which is Bachelor Of Education (B.ED) only. This course is a full title and goes for two years; the intake capacity that has been approved is one hundred students. In pursuing its objective of producing qualified teachers, the B.Ed programme is structured to provide the intending teachers with knowledge, skills, and skill-in-interaction that would enable them to practice teaching effectively. Though the college targets this specialized teacher training programme, the institution has ensured that it displays quality, rather than quantity, in its programs.

Admission to the Shri Malliyappayya Swami College of Education is highly competitive because the college admits students to academic programs based on their performance in previous academic exercises. Decisions about admission are made considering the marks scored in the qualifying examination and, or the entrance examination.
