Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College, Raipur was established in the year 1950. This affiliated college is located near RK College, on the Great Eastern Road, sprawling over an area of 89 acres. The institution offers 14 courses across 4 degree programs, with a total student enrolment of 346 and a faculty strength of 64. 

The CCIM-approved institution provides for an all-rounded Ayurvedic education, including the flagship BAMS programme and various specialised courses at the level of MD Ayurveda. The institution has an array of modern facilities to support its educational mission. The institution has separate boys' and girls' hostels conducive to residential learning. It has a library that is a treasure trove of knowledge, having over 19,737 reference books, national journals, and e-materials, supplemented with a reading area of 100-seat capacity along with e-library facilities. It has departmental laboratories, air-conditioned auditoriums for events and seminars, and an internet-enabled computer laboratory on its campus. The facilities for sports and the gym are available in the college for all-rounded development. Healthcare is also provided through an on-campus health centre with first-aid facilities. 

Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College runs a varied number of Ayurveda courses. The institution offers 14 full-time courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels.It offers various MD Ayurveda specialisations in disciplines such as Medicine, Samhita and Basic Principles, Anatomy, Pharmaceutics, Pathology and Diagnostic Procedures, and Materia Medica and Pharmacology.

The admission process in Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College is by a merit list, entrance examination process. Candidates have to qualify for the BAMS course in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). MD and MS courses at the postgraduate level are offered in accordance with the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test. For the diploma course, marks obtained in the +2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects from the Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Government will be considered.
