Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati's Science College, Nagpur was established in the year 1967. This affiliated college is located on sprawling acres of land on the site of Congress Nagar, Nagpur, which stands as a hub of academic excellence. It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education with a rich tradition of fostering scientific knowledge and research. This college, with a total enrolment of 1,794, where the faculty strength is 41, conducts 27 courses in six programmes leading to different scientific disciplines.

The Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati's Science College offers quite an array of courses catering to all different scientific interests. There are 27 courses: undergraduate, postgraduate, and even doctoral studies. Some of them are full-time courses: B. Sc. in various combinations, such as Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry; Chemistry, Botany and Zoology; Electronics, Computer Science and Mathematics. It also offers professional courses like BCA, 120 seats, and MCA, 30 seats. The postgraduate programmes, M.Sc., are being offered in the subjects of Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Physics. The institution also offers Ph.D. courses in Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics for the research enthusiasts. 

The admission procedure is admission-based and meritorious at Science College, Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati. In almost all undergraduate programs, admission is based on marks scored in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent); for MCA, however, the procedure goes a bit different. The candidates aspiring for admission need to appear for the Common Entrance Test that will be conducted by the Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education. Only those having non-zero score in CET are eligible for admission to the MCA program.
