Affiliated college of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Umiya Girls College, Mandleshwar, was established in 1998 in Mandleshwar. This is women’s educational institution that provides a wide number of programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate levels of various fields of knowledge. The college which is approved by NCTE has 600 student intake and is staffed with 13 faculties. Located on Maheshwar Road, the college offers education in Arts, Commerce, Science, Teacher Education, and Home science with fifteen courses in six courses programmes.

The college has provided various amenities for the improvement of the experiences of its students academically and socially. A library is well stocked and is regarded as an information centre and departmental laboratories on the other hand them adopted practical experiences. Shri Umiya Girls College has an auditorium for functions and seminars and a sports complex for indoor and outdoor games respectively. Essential facilites that a college student may need for convenience are provided by the college through the provision of a girls’ hostel with adequate security. There is a cafeteria to provide foods to the needful staff and students. It also has proper IT facilities to cope up with new technologies being incorporated in the college. In addition, there is provision for transport for commuting students and a guest room or waiting room for faculty and students' families invited to visit the institution.

Shri Umiya Girls College has been designed to provide a wide range of courses with total 15 courses of which 5 are at the postgraduate level and 10 are at the undergraduate level. BA, BA Computer Applications, B.Com, B.Com Computer Applications, B.Sc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Computer science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Home Science and Biology, B.Ed, D.Ed, M.Sc Biotechnology and M.H.Sc Textile. All these courses are full-time programmes offered to prepare students with knowledge and skills needed in their chosen areas of specialisation. Teachers’ education is emphasized by the college, as one of the most popular courses for enrolment, the B.Ed programme has an approved number of student admissions set at 100.

Different courses offered in Shri Umiya Girls College, Mandleshwar, have different ways of admission. For most undergraduate programmes enrolment is normally conducted in accordance with the merit of the qualifying test. For the B.ED programme, the college has developed quite a systematised scheme of work. B.Ed admission is offered based on a candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination, or an entrance test conducted by the college or university.
