Shrimati Indira Gandhi College (SIGC), the affiliation of which was started in the year 1984, is a Tiruchirappalli based college. NAAC accredited institution affiliated to VTU and recognized by AICTE. Located on 9.04 acre area, SIGC provides as many as 47 diverse courses in 15 degrees for 4,375 students. The college has a faculty of 182 and is proud to have a reasonable student faculty ratio. SIGC offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctrine courses for students in humanities, sciences, commerce, and management streams.

They accommodations are of modern building structures and equipped with appropriate facilities for the support of students’ academic and personal needs. The library system in SIGC is rather rich and consists of three libraries with overall, more than 55200 volumes in stock and 200+ periodicals subscriptions. These libraries have a total floor space of 454 square meters and all these libraries are computerised and connected through Local Area Network so whichever computer at the campus is accessed it will lead to same link. For technology requirements, Shrimati Indira Gandhi College has proper IT facilities with 6 MBPS Mc leased line connection and 1 MBPS Broadband connection catering the need of almost 140 computers. The campus also has Wi Fi access to the students as well as other members of the campus.

The disciplines are presented by SIGC at a wide spectrum of academic levels: 47 courses are offered. Full-time, part-time and online courses, and certification programmes are offered in the college. Some of the famous Courses include MBA, BBA, B.Sc Computer Science, and other Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree course from science, arts, commerce streams or any other discipline. The MBA programme as a flag ship course of the college admits 60 students as per the approved limit. Despite not having specific seat matrix in detail for all courses, the total number of intakes in this college are 4375, which manifest the sufficient capacity of all courses.

Admission procedure of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College differs course wise but however few basic requirements are there. MBA is offered as a course in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or the Common Entrance Test (CET).
