Siddheswar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Balasore Odisha is one of the premier institution in the stream of pharmaceutical education. Founded in 1982, this affiliated college has been helping to determine the future of pharmacy for more than forty years. Accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), here is an institute, imparting education in pharmaceutical sciences. Siddheswar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences has made provision of several facilities to complement the training exercises of the learners in the college. To ensure practical knowledge the college has well stocked, maintained and advanced laboratories with all modern amenities as per AICTE and PCI standards. These labs are in the hands of professional laboratory assistants who work hand in hand with the faculty to offer appropriate training to the students. Apart from the academic aspect, the college fosters the principle of a balanced development process. It provides a place to play and appropriate apparatus for all the essential physical and indoor and outdoor activities such as playground for children as well as other students sporting equipment to enhance team spirit among them by practicing different physical activities. This college also allows students to get involved in inter college events so as to expand student’s experience beyond the instructional periods in the class.

Siddheswar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences currently offers one full-time course: pharmacy is the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma). This programme takes two years to complete and has been structured with an aim of equipping the student with pharmaceutical sciences in order to enable him/her to serve in various capacities in the pharmaceutical sector or opt for further studies in the subject. This programme is offered with an approved intake capacity of sixty students in order to offer a healthy student to facilitator ratio. The data on the total number of graduates has not been provided but the college has been producing graduates for the pharmaceutical field since it was established and this means that it has made a great contribution in providing the pharmaceutical work force over the years. The eligibility criteria for admission in the D.Pharma programme at Siddheswar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is mainly through merit. Pharm.D is a course of six years duration. It is professional postgraduate degree program which one can join after completing five years of classroom and hospital based didactic study programme, followed by one year of internship training in hospitals along with ongoing practicals and research projects.
