Sidheshwari Laxminath Sanskrit College, Gajahara, was established in the year 1967 as a constituent college of Madhubani, Bihar. It is one of the most famous Sanskrit colleges in the country for offering Sanskrit education at the degree level in two courses, viz., BA Acharya and MA Acharya. The NAAC has also accredited this institution, thereby underlining the fact that the sole aim of the college is to foster quality education. This 5.16-acre campus hosts a college that currently has a total student enrollment of 101 students and a faculty of 5. It might be small in terms of its student/faculty population but has a significant role in the preservation and propagation of Sanskrit studies in the region.
The institution has various amenities for its students. A well-stocked library offers access to numerous information in the form of books, periodicals, journals, and other resources related to Sanskrit studies. There happens to be a health center with first-aid facilities to take care of the students' health in the campus. There is also a gym available in the campus for those who take an interest in physical fitness. Other modern facilities include Wi-Fi connectivity and IT infrastructure that support digital learning within the college. The girls' hostel accommodates the female students, and thus the institute provides access to higher education to students from far-flung places. Other amenities like the canteen, the convenience store, and the parking facilities are available in the campus, fulfilling the daily requirements both of the students and the staff.
Sidheshwari Laxminath Sanskrit College offers two full-time courses with Sanskrit studies as the major course of study. While BA Acharya is a three-year undergraduate course, MA Acharya is a two-year postgraduate course. The courses designed within this program acquaint the student with in-depth knowledge of Sanskrit language and literature with associated cultural studies. Commitment of this institution towards Sanskrit studies goes a long way in preserving and promoting this great classical language.
All students having a zeal for Sanskrit studies are now open for admission to Sidheshwari Laxminath Sanskrit College, Gajahara. Being an affiliated college, it likely follows the admission policy prescribed by its parent university. Since the institution itself focuses on Sanskrit education, it is the right place to deeply study this ancient language and its rich cultural heritage.
