Sigma Health Training Institute started in 1988 is one of the premier nursing education institute situated at Ludhiana, Punjab. This affiliated college recognised by India Nursing Council has been producing health care professional in the future for more than three decades. The nursing institute is located closely to Palm Enclave on the Southern Bypass to provide a variety of nursing courses for women only. Although separate statistics for the enrollment strength are missing, the institute is famous for offering educational facilities in the nursing stream.

Sigma Health Training Institute has some of the facilities that help in improving the experience of learning in the students. A bright and spacious library stock with over 5,000 books and other materials is provided to help apprentices in the sphere of nursing and receive general education. Medical amenities in this college comprises of a health center where any incident that may occur is first attended to, thus making the students comfortable all through their stay in college. To ensure practical experience, Sigma Health Training Institute comprises of a Nursing Laboratory and Mother and Child Health Laboratory. The nursing courses provided by the Sigma Health Training Institute include under graduate and post graduate level courses. The institute currently offers seven full time courses of three levels of degrees. At undergraduate level, there are four years B.Sc Nursing course with 60 quotas, Four years General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) also with 60 quotas and two years Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) with 50 quotas. Especially for the students those are seeking to improve their winning potential, the institute provides Post Basic B.Sc Nursing having a capacity of 40 seats for two years. Currently, the following postgraduate level M.Sc Nursing programmes are offered by Sigma Health Training Institute for Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrical & Gynaecological Nursing & Psychiatric Nursing having an intake of 2, 3 & 5 respectively.
