Siliguri Terai B Ed College, Darjeeling: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

This is an affiliated college formed in the year 2017 located in Darjeeling, West Bengal named Siliguri Terai B.Ed. College. This co-educational institution affiliated to HNB dresse is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education and offers only teacher education programmes. A small college, it occupies a 3.33-acre plot, with two full time courses admitting a total of 200 students. The faculty strength currently stands at thirty two thus providing an ideal student teacher ratio which enables the institute to offer quality tuition to all its learners.

Siliguri Terai B.Ed. College operationalises a variety of facilities that improve the learning environment. A comprehensive library contains various academic and competitive books, study and research facilities create a proper atmosphere. The science laboratories are well equipped with modern playthings with a view that students can obtain principal information and experience under the direction of experts. There is also emphasis on technology development with a computer laboratory equipped with modern software. In an attempt to facilitate the students the institute has transport facilities with buses Daak Ghar to and from Siliguri town. Siliguri Terai B.Ed. College offers two full-time courses: There are two courses; Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme of two years and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Intake has been approved at 100 seats per each programme , giving a total of 200 seats for all courses. The goal of these programmes is to produce professional and competent members into the teaching fraternity to enable him/her practice quality in teaching.

Actually, the admission policy today in Siliguri Terai B.Ed. College relies on the marks achieved in the qualifying or entrance test. The admission process of the college is in compliance with the state government and the affiliated university. For the B.Ed. programme admission, candidates are admitted based on their performance in the qualifying examination or any other process that is determine by the state government or Union Territory administration of India. Likewise, in the case of D.El.Ed. programme admissions are open through merit in the qualifying examination or entrance test strictly according to the norms set by the state government or UT administration.
