The Sir Issac Newton College of Education came into existence in 2006 which is situated at Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. This co educational college is located on 10 acre land and this college is especially important for preparing future educators. Associated College means that it is just a part of a major university and thus is obliged to maintain high scholarly performance level. This institution has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) testifying to its standard teacher education programmes.

Sir Issac Newton College of Education offers a limited but relevant education courses that mainly targets students who wish to teach within different focuses at various levels. The institution provides three full-time programmes: It offers Under graduate (Bachelors) courses, Post graduate (Masters) courses and Post graduate Diploma courses of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Master of Education (M.Ed), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The college has a total of 298 students per course to ensure perfect student-client relationship and quality education is provided. The 34 experienced educators in the faculty also complement the great balance of the student-teacher ratio.

In regard to the B.ED programme, admission are given according to the marks of the qualifying examination / entrance test as per the norms of the state government , UT administration and the affiliated University. The M. Ed programme also follows the same consideration in regard to the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other selection criteria as specified by the government. The D.El.Ed programme reservation also rely on merit which means the marks obtained from the qual, and or entrance test as per the state government or UT administration policy.

The college runs 23 buses for the convenience of students coming from nearby areas through different routes like Kumbakonam, Tiruvarur and koradachery.
