Sitananda College, Purba Medinipur, affiliated in 1960, is an affiliated college in West Bengal, India. Situated in the heart of Nandigram, the institution has served the purpose of education in the vicinity for more than six decades. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council assessed and accredited the college as a testimony to the institution's attempt at maintaining high academic standards. Spanning a campus of 9.85 acres, Sitananda College offers varied undergraduate and postgraduate courses to as many as 4,960 students. With the faculty strength of 28 dedicated teachers, this college provides a suitable learning environment for students pursuing different streams in arts and sciences.

Sitananda College, in its fullest functions, provides varied infrastructural amenities to the students to perfect their learning environment. The college library is located on the first floor of the Arts Block, covering an area of about 2000 sq. ft., and acts as a knowledge hub for students and the teaching faculty. It is well-automated with OPAC services and internet facilities to make a plethora of academic sources easily accessible. The campus has well-equipped laboratories for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Anthropology, Nutrition, and Geography, which help in practical learning. There exist three playgrounds to entertain activities of football, cricket, basketball, badminton, and volleyball for students with an interest for sports. The institution also provides hostels separately for both boys and girls, accommodating 24 students in each. The campus also includes a canteen, a health centre with first-aid facilities, and ICT-enabled classrooms for modern teaching methodologies. 

Sitananda College offers a wide range of subjects that caters to various interests and professional objectives. It provides 16 courses in 5-degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This list includes some of the famous BA programmes in subjects like Bengali, English, Education, and Sanskrit, and B.Sc programmes in Geography, Anthropology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology. It also offers general BA and B.Sc degree courses where the student can take multiple subjects. Among postgraduate programmes, Sitananda College offers MA in Bengali and Sanskrit. All courses are offered on a full-time basis. Students get an in-depth education in their streams.   

The admission to Sitananda College is mostly on a merit basis. In almost all courses such as B.Sc Anthropology Hons, B.Sc Zoology Hons, and B.Sc Industrial Fish and Fishery Major, admission is strictly made based on the academic performance of applying candidates in their qualifying exams.
