SJG College of Education, located inAnandapuram, was started in the year 2004 and is an affiliated college in Shivamogga, Karnataka. Specialist in the area of teacher education, the institution has received its recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is located in a small campus measuring 5.05 acres of land; as of now, the college houses 72 students and 6 faculty members. SJG College of Education has only one programme of study, the Bachelor of Education (B.ED) with an approved enrolment of one hundred students, as the college is specialised in the production of teachers.

SJG College of Education has numerous amenities amenities that seeks to improve the learning environment of the college. At the centre of these is a school library with a full time professional librarian and adequate stock. With a collection of 5,640 books and specialised references for the B.Ed course, the library also subscribes to approximately thirty educational journals and periodicals. There is also a large conference reading room that accompanies the library so that the students can comfortably study and undertake research in this area. One of the outstanding features of the college is its up to date education reflecting by the computer lab fitted with 20 computers manned by competent teachers. This facility does not only encourage computer usage but has stock of educative CDs on various subjects and techniques in teaching.

SJG College of Education has only one course under its banner and this is the two-year, full time Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. This selective training curriculum helps this institution to direct its resources and personnel to generate highly qualified teachers. For the B. Ed course, the college has been granted an intake of one hundred students and the institution intends to play a large role in increasing the skills of educators within the education sector.
