SLD Girls College of Education, Palwal was started in the 2008-2009 educational period as a women-only education institution for the purpose of growing future educators. This affiliated college lies in the village Chhaproula, district Palwal, Haryana, sprawling over 3 acres. This NCTE-approved institute offers two specialized courses in education, having a total enrolment of 256 students. For this student strength, the college maintains an adequate student-to-teacher ratio of 256:21 so that due care and quality education may be provided to the aspiring teachers.

These arrangements have been put in place with an eye towards facilitating better learning among the students of the college. It has a well-stocked library with about 7,200 books, subscribing to a whole array of educational topics from theoretical and policy planning to pedagogical concepts. Also available within the campus is a fully-equipped computer laboratory furnished with the latest technology and internet connectivity to update students on digital knowledge in teaching. The college has a sports ground that accommodates a variety of outdoor activities for physical development. The 200-capacity conference hall provides the setting for intellectual activities like seminars, workshops, and orientation programs. SLD Girls College of Education offers two full-time courses, B.Ed in two years and D.Ed (two-year course). The sanctioned intake of the B.Ed. programme is 100, and for D.Ed., it is 50. Both programmes have been oriented to meet the requirements of the students in acquiring adequate knowledge and skills for a professional teaching career.        

The admission procedure in SLD Girls College of Education is governed by the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. For the B.Ed course, admission shall be made in accordance with merit, taking into account marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination and entrance examination conducted for the said purpose. As far as the D.Ed course is concerned, admission is done according to the admission norms of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Haryana, Bhiwani, and the Haryana Board of School Education, Bhiwani.
