Smt. Shanti Devi Law College, Rewari, was established in the year 2008 as an affiliated college in Haryana. This highly esteemed institution is duly approved by the Bar Council of India and spreads over an area of 25 acres. The institute has a total student enrolment of 397 students with 13 faculty members to make sure healthy faculty-student ratio. 

Smt. Shanti Devi Law College has many modern facilities that shall go a long way in providing a better experience for the students. Its library is the mainstay of legal education, comprising more than 4,000 books, journals, magazines, legal reporters, and so on, thereby being sufficient to provide for study and research. The UPS-backed computer laboratory, attached to the library, has access to legal databases like AIR CD ROM and Manupatra, thereby helping students get the latest information about law. There is also a moot court available in the college wherein the development of advocacy skills among the students is taken up intermittently. Separate boys' and girls' hostels meant for residential students are available in the College.

Smt. Shanti Devi Law College, Rewari and is one of the premier institutes imparting professional education in law in Haryana. Shanti Devi Law College, entirely merit based, intends to select students with good academic records and a keenness to study law. The college has the three full-time programs in law-three-year LL.B. course, five-year integrated B.A. LL.B course, and the two-year LL.M. program at postgraduate level.

Application Process

Apart from the initiation and the process that gives a good consideration, assessment of the candidates becomes thorough and fair:

1. Notification-s: The college announces admissions openings on its website and in newspapers.

2. Application Form: Candidates would have to either procure or complete the application form, which is probably either downloaded or filled online/offline, completing the form with correct personal and academic details.

3. Documentation: Along with the application form, candidates will be required to submit myriad relevant documents. Possible documents include:

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and graduation as applicable)
  • Valid Identity Proof
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificate/document mentioned by the college

4. Application Fee: Candidates were to pay an application fee as prescribed. Mode of payment and amount of the fee should be verified from the official communication of the college.

5. Entrance Exam: Depending on the stipulations of the program being applied to and university norm, some students may have to take an entrance exam. Candidates should check for the syllabus and pattern of this exam through official announcement.

6. Merit List: Academic performance results of entrance examination (if applicable) along with any other criteria set by the college will be compiled into a merit list, which will be published.

8. Payment of Fees: Validated and allotment of seats, candidates will confirm admission by paying the course fee within the specified time period.

9. Orientation: Generally students are expected to attend some orientation which will make them familiar with the codes of the college, the facilities available and the academical ethos.

Degree wise Admission Process

LL.B.-Smt. Shanti Devi Law College offers a 3-year LL.B. program, which has also been approved with an intake capacity of 60 seats. Admission to the program is usually for graduates of any discipline acceptable to the Bar Council of India. The candidates will be selected based on some examination and undergraduate degree results.

BA LL.B - The five-year integrated program has also been approved for 60 seats. It is for students who have completed their 10+2 and are willing to take up law as their career. Admission to this program may be on the basis of performance in the 10+2 examination as well as an entrance test for law laid by the university concerned.

LL.M.: A postgraduate two years law program is meant for students who completed their LL.B./equivalent degree. Though the intake for this program is not mentioned specifically, on a speculative basis, it seems that admission will be based on the performance in LL.B. degree followed by any postgraduate entrance examination in law.
