SNDT College of Home Science was established as a constituent college in 1968 at Maharshi Karve Vidyavihar, Karve Road, Pune. The institute is sprawled over 16 acres of area and offers diversified specialised courses in home science and related subjects. The institute is NAAC accredited and is well reputed for providing quality education in home science disciplines. SNDT College of Home Science has a strength of 503 students and a faculty strength of 7 students. The college offers 11 courses at three levels. The courses on the rolls include nutrition, dietetics, food science, interior design, and textile science. 

There is an excellent range of facilities available to improve the learning experience of the students. A well-furnished library serves as a symbol of knowledge, and state-of-art labs cater to the practical needs of most courses. An auditorium is provided for conducting events and seminars, which promotes a very fabulous academic atmosphere. For providing physical fitness, the college provides sports facilities as well as a gym. IT infrastructure ensures that the students stay in touch with modern technology. There is a cafeteria too that provides refreshment to the students, and a girls' hostel is there for outstation students. The college also maintains a health centre taking first aid facilities along with the welfare of students. A guest room is provided to accommodate visiting faculty and family members. 

SNDT College of Home Science provides an immense range of courses. There are 4 undergraduate programmes, 2 postgraduate programmes, and 5 diploma courses. It includes B.Sc., B.V.Sc., BA, B.Com., and BCA. Some of its programmes consist of Food Science and Quality Control, Interior Space Design, Textile Science and Apparel Design, and Home Science. The college has the M.Sc. programmes that are offered in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Processing. For diploma courses, the special areas of training include Dietetics and Sports Science, Fitness, and Nutrition. All the programmes are full-time, ensuring that students can learn a lot and master skills in the areas they opt for. 

SNDT College of Home Science, Pune Admission - Merit And Base The admission procedure of the college has been so designed that appropriate applicants can be screened to join the various courses offered by the college. For PG and diploma courses, there can be an assessment of the applicant by the institute based on his performance at the UG level and, if deemed necessary, interview or entry test.
