Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT) was started in the year 2008 at Khammam, Telangana. This affiliated college approved by AICTE of technical education has variety programmes to offer. SCIT Khammam spans 12 acres campus area, 1525 students, and 151 faculty strength. Currently, the institute has grouped together 15 courses fall under 4 degree programme areas, these are engineering and management. Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research has numerous facilities that are put in place for improving several parameters related to the student community. The libraries of the College contain more than 30000 numbers of text and reference books and also thirty numbers of national and international journal subscribed. It features three sections: , a stacking as well as a book issue area, a magazines and newspaper section, and a very large reading area. All these computer units with modern Pentium systems can connect in a local area network with broadband internet in a fully air-conditioned centralized computer center that can seat 90 students at once. For female students, we have a hostel in municipal area of Khammam that can accommodate 150 inhabitants, along with the basic necessary sanitary and hygienic food, purified drinking water, round the clock security and professionally trained women attendants. This campus also has a hospital that has first aid, a sports disclosing, a cafeteria that serves cheap food and bounds, an assembly hall for functions and seminars, and science well equipped laboratories for both academic and co-curricular activities.

The course framework of the institute includes 18 full time programmes at different levels. These include B.Tech in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, computer science and engineering (data science). Presently, SCIT provides post graduate courses in M.Tech Computer Science & Engineering and M.Tech Embedded System and MBA. Also included as parts of its offerings, the institute offers diploma programmes in Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineering, computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. The maximum intake strength approved for all the courses is 797 for total number of students, out of which 120 has been allotted for B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) and 120 for MBA.

The admission policy adopted at SCIT Khammam is meant to be competitive and more or less elastic in nature. For engineering programmes the institute accept students mainly through the Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test known as TS ECET. The MBA programme admissions need the passing of the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET). These college entrance exams plays the role of ensuring that qualified candidates are only offered a place in every programme. The institute operates on the admission calendar provided by the state education ministry which usually results in admission exercises during the following twelve months of the school year that commences in July or August. SCIT also provides an environment through grants for scholarships to deserving students. In the academic year 2020-21, 146 of the 1301 undergraduate students have availed reimbursement proving the institute’s aim of affordable education.
