Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute of Technology, abbreviated as S.D.M.I.T, began in the year 2007, and is situated in Ujire, Karnataka. This is a private and co-education college with Vtu affiliation and Aicte approval beckon with excellent hub in Karnataka. At a campus area of Thirty acres, SDMIT provides various UG engineering courses to 1810 students. The institute boasts a diverse student body with a 59:41 male to female ration and faculty of strength of 79. Educational quality is also well represented, and SDMIT offers 6 courses in various fields of engineering, such as computer science, electronics and communications, AI and data science.

Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute of Technology provides all levels of undergraduate engineering education and all its 6 programmes are full time. The degree programmes offered by SDMIT are BE in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, and the relatively new course that is Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The total approved intake for all courses which a university can admit is 420 and for computer science and electronics and communication engineering the intake is 120 each.

KCET is the major admission criteria for the SDMIT Ujire and COMEDK UGET is also the admission criteria for the institute. The institute also provides management quota for which students who want to join the institute whether from Karnataka or other states, NRIs can also join. As stated the candidate has to have a KCET, COMEDK, or JEE ranking score for the Management quota admission. This partly depends on the students’ academic performance, as well as the rankings of the entrance examination. These are merit scholarships, minority scholarships and scholarships to deserving students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in Sdmit.
