Sri Kishun College Ballia is an affiliated college established in 2016 in Sikanderpur, Uttar Pradesh. With its establishment barely half a century old, this university has already established itself as an important player in the region’s educational arena. Housed on a 0.75 acre of land, the college provides concentrated learning to all its students. Sri Kishun College is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), thus giving its education programs a standard touch. The college has at the moment only two degree programmes with a total enrolment of 274 and a teaching faculty of 12 members. As well, there is a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for which a total of 50 students are admitted. It is a course of special interest for those who seek to become teachers in the lower grades of primary school. Both programmes are organised in a way that delivers a complete understanding of a field of study and prepares students for future professions or further education. Altogether, the total student enrolment for these two programmes is 470. The college can actually enrol a large number of potential learners every beginning of an academic year. 

Like all admission processes at colleges and universities in India, Sri Kishun College follows a simple and merit-based admission process. For the Bachelor of Arts programme, though a specific admission process is not outlined, this college may consider performance in 10+2 examinations. The D.El.Ed. programme, on the other hand, has a structured admission and counselling programme and schedule. Admission to this course is strictly as per the norms of the college and fulfilling the rules and regulations of the state SCERT Govt. of UP and NCTE norms of Govt. of India for the B.Ed. course. 

This enables the university to meet set criteria for selection of teaching students in order to meet state and national expectations. Another thing, which prospective students should note, is that the college does not indicate any particular examinations that are required to be taken in order to be admitted into the institution. However, since competition in higher education is high, it is advisable to keep good academic scores in qualifying examinations.
