Sri Sai College of Pharmacy (SSCP) started in 2004 having its campus situated in Pathankot of Punjab state. This affiliated College recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi regulates the future of pharmacy education since eighteen years. Located in a small area of 2.5 acres, SSCP is offering different pharmacy programmes to 247 students and among them 247 students are undergraduates and 12 students are postgraduates. The college has a large student population with majority of the students being from out of Punjab, and this increases the multiculturalism of the college. Thus, the total faculty strength of SSCP consists of 24 professional academic members who In sscp student to faculty ratio is low that facilitates quality and individual attention toward students.
They stand as a great hall and they are determined to provide all teaching amenities that would ensure a complete learning experience of a student. Accommodation: The campus has the two different hostels for male and female students to ensure they maintain comfort abroad from their parent’s home with an environment that supports their study. The college library, one of the most busiest in the campus, contains number of text books, technical periodicals, magazines, and reference works etc. They read books, do not forget; the library also offers use of electronic journals and the has a project on going for digitisation. Preferably for those with a certain athletic disposition, SSCP comes with a nice gym to it. The college also applies student welfare where the college now has health centre with first aid facilities for students. The campus is equipped with a facility with seminar and cultural event possibility to support community sense and events.
Sri Sai College of Pharmacy has three courses of Pharm in different categories of the course. This programme called Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is an undergraduate programme of four years duration with an intake of 60 students. For those desirous of further specialisation, the college provides for a two-year Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) in Pharmaceutics with 9 seats.The College expects the M.Pharma students to cover the following fields: It can also make use of other departments such as; Moreover; SSCP offers Diploma In Pharmacy (D.Pharma); this course offers two years and capacity sixty seats. In total the college has an approved intake of 129 students across all its programmes, this shows the college’s intention of producing skilled pharmacy professional at different levels.
The admission process in this Sri Sai College of Pharmacy will be based on merit and the college enshrines the policy of high admission. Although the dates when the exams are held are not given, most likely, the college operates under a typical academic year considering admissions. UG admission does require students to complete their 10 + 2 level education with PCM or PCB as the group as optional subjects. Candidates who desire to pursue post graduate programmes normally must possess a B.Pharma degree from an accredited university.
