Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Memorial Government Institute of Advanced Study in Education, Nellore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Located at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Memorial Government Institute of Advanced Study in Education is one of the premier institutes of teacher education. This co-educational institute was started in the year 1955. It has been grooming the future of education for almost seven decades. The institution is approved by NCTE; hence, the college strives to maintain a high standard in training its teachers. The institute has a compact 2 acre campus that provides a focused learning environment to its students. 

Along with excellent infrastructure, the institute also has well-equipped facilities to meet various requirements of the students. It is a knowledge hub of the institution, having books of prime importance for the budding teachers. In line with the theoretical learning, the college is equipped with departmental laboratories to receive practical experience in various fields of education. Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Memorial Government Institute of Advanced Study in Education runs two regular courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed). While the B.Ed course has an approved intake of 100 seats, for M.Ed, there are 50 available. Each course comprises two years of detailed study. With the institute's focus on these crucial education programmes, it can devote appropriate attention to the training of teachers and the professional development of graduates. 

The admission process is based on the merit following the policies prescribed by the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university at Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Memorial Government Institute of Advanced Study in Education. Admissions to the B. Ed. course shall be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance exam. For the M. Ed. program, this will be based on the merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination, entrance exam, or any other selection benchmark as per the governing policies.
